Patrick Barden takes on the London Marathon

Patrick has Cerebral Palsy; this never stopped him doing anything he wanted to when he was with us at school, and this determination for achieving anything he puts his mind to has clearly developed since leaving us, as he is due to complete the London Marathon today!

Patrick has been walking the course since he started on Sunday, doing around five miles each day with the help of a frame & a team of supporters, and he is set to finish later this afternoon.

The link below is to a newspaper article which has captured his progress so far & there is a photograph attached to the email as well.

Patrick is fundraising for “Step and Learn”, the cerebral palsy charity. So far, he has raised over £3,700 but if anyone would like to help Patrick increase this amount I am sure he would welcome any additional sponsorship http://www.charitychoice.co.uk/fundraiser/patrickbarden/london-marathon

It is always a proud moment to hear how well our former students are doing when they tackle challenges like this, even more so when they have had to live alongside life changing conditions. Patrick’s story is certainly a very inspirational one.
