The 116th Old Williamsonian Club Annual Dinner - 2017
I think it fair to say that the Dinner last year was a roaring success, so we are going to make very few changes for 2017.
*6:45 for 7:30 on Saturday 18th November 2017.
*Please note early start time.
The Ballroom at the St. George Hotel, Chatham (full address shown later in this notice); this will allow an attendance of up to 300. Last year we had nearly 150 in attendance and I hope this year we will break the magic 200 barrier! Dress code is formal, with black tie preferred for the gentlemen and posh frocks for the ladies.
As usual formalities will be kept to an absolute minimum thus maximising the time for conversing with old friends. All tickets will be numbered and you will automatically be entered into a prize draw with three good prizes.
As it was such a success last year, again this year we are going to have individual table “Hog Roasts”. This will be waitress service and each table receives a whole loin of pork for a designated chef to carve at the table; hopefully there will be someone on each table who is prepared to fulfil this role, especially as he/she will be kitted out with a big chef’s hat, apron and carving knife.
The Committee have decided to keep the cost to £30 per person for the fifth year running. Again there will be no concessions but you will be delighted to hear that again this year there will be no guests; everybody there will have paid!

It was great last year to see so many new faces, especially as a lot of them were from the new generation of Old Williamsonians. Let’s hope that in 2017 there are even more young people there, as well as the stalwarts.
Special Treat - Tour of the School
Last year your president, Eliot Hodges, kindly organised a tour of the School on the Friday before the Dinner which was a great success. Feedback from attendees suggested that they would have preferred a slightly longer tour and an opportunity to engage with senior staff.
For 2017 Mr. Hodges has proposed a tour of the School on Friday 17th November starting around 11:30 and finishing around 13:00 then followed by lunch with Mr. Hodges and members of the senior team; lunch will be fish & chips.

This fabulous opportunity (including the lunch) is free for the first 20 who respond.
- If you wish to have a vegetarian or other food allergy alternative, please indicate on your booking form.
- The hotel is offering discounted rates for rooms for those who may wish to stay over. The cost is £75 for a standard double room, £70 for a compact (small) double room and £50 for a standard single room and in all cases this includes a full English breakfast and VAT. You must mention you are attending the Dinner when booking to achieve the discount and quote the code EVNT 001163.

There are a small number of us working very hard pretty much all year round to try to make each Annual Dinner an enjoyable evening.
Many people in attendance last year said on the night that they would book far more places for 2017. Please do so, and let’s make it the best supported Old Williamsonian Dinner ever!!
