The Math becomes a National Citizen Service (NCS) Champion School

The school has been designated a NCS Champion School having consistently supported this initiative since its inception a few years ago.  This year 26 young people signed up and completed the programme.  These students will attend a graduation ceremony on 6 September to celebrate their success.  Our school is one of only six schools/colleges in Medway being awarded this status.

The NCS is open to all 16 and 17-year-olds in England.

It help youngsters build skills for work and life, while taking on new challenges and meeting new friends. Students have a short time away from home and take part in a team project that helps their community.

NCS brings together young people from different backgrounds and helps them develop greater confidence, self-awareness and responsibility. It encourages personal and social development by working on skills like leadership, teamwork and communication.

Participants develop a social action project to deal with a local issue they are passionate about, and spend 30 hours putting the project into action in their community.
