UNICEF rights respecting school

Since September, the school has been working towards becoming a UNICEF rights respecting school.  This involves us as a school ensuring that we not only teach our pupils about the rights that they have under the Universal Convention of the Rights of the Child (  but also ensuring that we uphold those rights.  We have already had assemblies on rights, talked about rights in lessons, set up a focus group with representatives from forms across the school to devise our own rights charter which we can all use and put a copy of the convention in all rooms in the school.  We have now achieved a bronze award (recognition of commitment) and will be working towards hopefully achieving a silver award in the summer.
