Attendance and Lateness
If your son is unwell, please telephone the school before 9.30am on the same day to let us know. In order to make contact easier, a dedicated telephone line has been installed for this purpose and the number is given below. Calls can be made out of hours to the answer phone attached to this line.
If a pupil is absent for more than one day, a further call should be made on the third day, giving an indication of how long the absence is likely to continue. If no call is received to explain a first or third day absence, the School’s Attendance Officer will follow up the absence and make contact with parents.
Absence Reporting Telephone: 01634 815250.
Following an absence for illness, students must bring in a note from home explaining why they have been away. This should be brought in on the day of the student’s return to school and should be addressed to the Form Tutor.
Students are expected to be in their form rooms by 8.25am. Frequent lateness can mean that students miss vital information which is distributed at morning registration. If students arrive after 8.30am, they must report to Reception and sign the late register.
