Easylink - How to get started
Here is a step by step guide to how to use the EasyLink service. To use the service you must go to https://folders.sirjosephwilliamson.medway.sch.uk - it is probably worth adding this to your favourites to save repeatedly typing in the URL. Once entered, you will see the folllowing screen:
Click Yes - You will then see a Network Logon box:
Enter your User Name and Password as if at school. Click on “Open the Easylink Website”:
Double click on the Home Directory icon. This will show your "My Documents" folder from school. When you select a file to download you have to get through the same security clearance and logon - but you eventually you get to your work!
When working with files it is suggested that users save a copy of the files needed locally on their home PC, in case the connection gets broken. This can be done by clicking on File, then Save As and save the file to your hard disk on your home PC. To replace your updated work back to the school network:
- Select everything in the file to be transferred – Control A
- Copy the new file – Control C
- Connect to Easylink and open the original file
- Paste your new file with Control V
- Save the replaced file
Remember, work for 30 minutes then take a 10 minute break! To log off Easylink, just close all browser windows.
