Chemistry: Mission statement

To challenge, motivate and engage all students in developing their questioning, analytical and evaluative skills which will promote enquiry and understanding in the Chemistry of the 21st Century.

 

Key Stage 3

Chemistry is holistically incorporated into the KS3 Science curriculum through the experimental and investigative challenges faced by the learners.   Study focuses around the development of skills and the ability to describe and justify the choices made during experimental work. As each learner develops they translate their thinking into concrete learning to reliably choose GCSE Chemistry.
 
 

Key Stage 4

GCSE Chemistry involves some traditional work which is used and applied to many contemporary issues that are affecting our planet. The work goes well beyond the statutory Science curriculum, preparing learners for further studies through a wide variety of skills, both practical and theoretical.

 

Key Stage 5

The KS5 Curriculum in Chemistry has been designed specifically to provide real-world skills and require each and every individual to give of their very best. Learners experience fun, challenge, variety and pace and have the opportunity to develop their skills in presentation, discussion, argument, self-study and creativity. Chemistry helps learners to be the nations’ finest young people!
